Personal Bio: Aaron Cook
'As a teenager, my father (who freelances for physical special effects film departments) would take me to visit Pinewood Studios. He would sneak me in to look at blockbuster film sets like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James Bond and the Dark Knight. I loved looking at the film sets and then seeing how different it all looked when I watched the end product on DVD. I saved up and purchased a tape camera in 2003, which provided me a much needed platform for creative expression. Filming and Photography has always fascinated me, there is something about being able to digitally capture life through a lens and then watching it back, as if playing with time. Several years later and now holding a Masters in Cinematography, I can combine the technical and theoretical aspects with my creative vision to portray a story that needs to be told.''
I have trained in the Territorial Army and had the privilege of being put forward to represent my regiment to assist the Queen for her Diamond Jubilee. When in the Leeds University Officer Training Corp I attended battle camp in Sennelager, Germany. I decided to combine my film skills with my love for the outdoors and took on filming projects with the British Military and London Met Police Force. I have made hundreds of sports films in a behind the scenes style for professional cycling teams such as Wiggle High5, Team Dimension Data, Team Sky and An-Post Chain Reaction. I have been hired to make a global marketing video, whereby the video was shown on large outside broadcast screens in major cities around the world and exclusive stores such as Harrods, London. I have regularly travelled internationally for film projects to places such as Australia, China, Singapore and most of Europe. I continue to work frequently with Oracle, a technology company founded by Larry Ellison.
I have worked with the National Trust, the BBC and national parks in the UK. I take part in adventurous expeditions around the world.
